BMW – Data Portal / Cloud Data Hub (CDH)

CONTEXT
BMW required an internal cloud-based data platform to make company-wide data more accessible and actionable for decision-makers. The goal was to centralize data access, simplify how data could be combined and analyzed, and enable more data-driven decision-making across departments.

CHALLENGE
The main challenge was to reduce the complexity of the available content while maintaining maximum flexibility in how users could explore, combine, and utilize data.

APPROACH
– Developed a lightweight design solution based on a component- and scenario-driven information architecture
– Focused on clear navigation and intuitive user flows to make complex datasets more understandable
– Collaborated closely with research and content design to support different user roles and usage scenarios effectively

IMPACT
– Delivered a unified data platform that significantly improved transparency and efficiency in working with enterprise data
– Reduced complexity and improved the discoverability of relevant information
– Established a scalable UX architecture that can integrate future data products and use cases
